An exceptional mid-century Italian pendant by Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte, showcasing the refined craftsmanship and decorative detailing synonymous with the celebrated Italian lighting house.

The pendant features a beautifully formed red metal upper shade with a scalloped edge, paired with a large opaline glass diffuser below. The underside is delicately decorated with an intricate floral and foliate motif, which becomes particularly beautiful when illuminated.

Suspended from an elegant brass structure, the pendant features a series of distinctive curved hooks and finely detailed fittings, together with a fluted central brass element and coordinating ceiling rose. The combination of rich red glass, softly illuminated opaline glass and aged brass creates a particularly striking composition.

A beautiful and highly decorative example of Italian mid-century lighting, equally impressive illuminated or unlit.

The pendant has been rewired to Australian Standards.
