Pair of Vintage La Murrina Wall Sconces, c.1970’s

The vintage Italian wall sconces by La Murrina featuring a sculptural teardrop-shaped Murano glass shade with an internally textured white crystalline finish. The substantial hand-blown glass diffuser displays an organic frost-like pattern throughout the interior, creating a dramatic illuminated effect when lit. The elegant asymmetrical form is suspended from a curved brass support, combining refined Italian metalwork with the artistry of Murano glass production. The translucent clear outer layer contrasts beautifully against the textured white internal decoration, giving the piece exceptional depth and atmosphere. Produced by La Murrina, one of Italy’s most recognised Murano lighting manufacturers, the sconce embodies the expressive sculptural aesthetic associated with Venetian lighting design during the late twentieth century. The sconce has been rewired to Australian Standards.

Condition: Good vintage condition with minor signs of wear consistent with age and use. Minor bubbles, inclusions and variations throughout the glass are consistent with the handmade nature of Murano glass. Light patination to the brass consistent with age.
