Mid-Century Italian Murano Glass Chandelier by Barovier, c.1960s
An exceptional mid-century chandelier attributed to Barovier, composed of layered hand-formed Murano glass elements in a warm, multi-tonal palette of amber, champagne, and clear crystal.
Each elongated glass panel is richly textured with an organic, almost molten surface, allowing the light to refract and diffuse beautifully throughout the piece. The cascading arrangement creates a sculptural silhouette, with staggered lengths forming a soft, tiered drop.
The interplay of tones—from deep honeyed amber through to pale champagne and pinks—adds depth and warmth, giving the chandelier a luminous presence both illuminated and at rest.
Suspended from a central frame, the piece retains its strong architectural form while maintaining the artisanal irregularity characteristic of Murano glass from this period.
