Vintage Italian Giogali Link Chandelier by Angelo Mangiarotti, Dome-Shaped, c.1960s–70s
A sculptural vintage Italian Giogali link chandelier designed by Angelo Mangiarotti, formed in a richly layered dome configuration. Composed of hand-cast clear Murano glass links, the chandelier exemplifies Mangiarotti’s radical yet poetic approach to modular design.
Each individual glass link is organically shaped, with subtle internal texture and variation that allows light to refract and scatter beautifully. The links are assembled into a dense, cascading dome, creating a sense of movement and depth while maintaining a strong architectural presence.
When illuminated, the chandelier emits a soft, crystalline glow, with light filtering through the overlapping glass elements to produce a dynamic interplay of shadow and transparency. The form appears almost weightless despite its sculptural density—a hallmark of Mangiarotti’s mastery of structure and material.
An iconic example of Italian modernist lighting design, this Giogali chandelier is both highly decorative and rigorously architectural, making it ideal as a statement piece for refined residential interiors or design-led commercial spaces.
