Rare Mid Century Italian  Cylindrical Murano Glass Chandelier by Paolo Venini for Venini – Fumé Champagne, Italy

A truly exceptional and highly collectible example of Paolo Venini lighting, this rare cylindrical chandelier presents an unusual and highly architectural expression of Venetian glass design.

Unlike the more commonly encountered Venini chandeliers combining Tronchi and Triedri elements, this remarkable piece is composed entirely of elongated Murano glass cylinders. The individual elements radiate from the central frame in graduated lengths, forming a dramatic tiered silhouette with a strong geometric presence.

Hand-blown in a beautiful fumé champagne Murano glass, the cylinders possess subtle tonal variations that shift between warm champagne, smoky bronze and soft amber depending on the light. Viewed from below, the numerous cylindrical elements create an extraordinary radial composition, while the darkened ends provide graphic contrast and emphasise the chandelier's sculptural construction.

When illuminated, light travels through and between the glass cylinders, producing a warm, atmospheric glow while accentuating the clarity and depth of the hand-blown glass.

The chandelier has been professionally restored, with its original glass carefully preserved and reassembled. It has also been rewired to Australian standards and is ready for installation.

With its generous proportions, unusual all-cylinder construction and commanding architectural form, this is a particularly striking example of mid-century Italian Murano lighting and a significant statement piece for both contemporary interiors and collections of twentieth-century Italian design.

Professionally restored and rewired to Australian standards.
