Pair of Vintage Italian Wall Sconces by Toni Zuccheri for Venini, 1960s
A beautifully composed pair of vintage Italian wall sconces designed by Toni Zuccheri for Venini, showcasing the designer’s signature approach to sculptural glass and atmospheric light.
Each sconce is formed from a cluster of vertically suspended Murano glass elements, characterised by their organic, bark-like texture—reminiscent of corteccia—which softly diffuses and refracts illumination. The glass carries a subtle warmth, enriched by gentle tonal variations and internal movement typical of hand-formed Venetian production.
The composition is anchored by a minimal, geometric white metal frame, creating a striking contrast between the structured architectural support and the fluidity of the glass. Circular metal caps with sphere finials complete each element, adding a refined, almost industrial counterpoint to the organic glass.
When illuminated, the sconces emit a warm, ambient glow, with the textured surface scattering light to create depth and softness rather than direct glare.
Rewired to Australian standards.
Vintage pieces with signs of wear consistent with age and use.
