Pair of Italian Mid-Century Bedside Cabinets, attributed to Paolo Buffa

Elegant pair of Italian mid-century bedside cabinets attributed to Paolo Buffa, showcasing the refined craftsmanship and material contrasts characteristic of post-war Italian design. Each cabinet is beautifully constructed with a rich dark timber carcass and striking book-matched veneer to the top, creating a warm, fluid grain pattern.
The drawer and door fronts feature a distinctive geometric parquetry in contrasting lighter timbers, framed by dark outlines and finished with original turned handles, adding a subtle decorative rhythm to the composition. Raised on gently splayed legs, the proportions are balanced and architectural, allowing the pieces to read as both functional storage and sculptural furniture.
The bedsides have been professionally restored by our furniture polisher, with the timber surfaces carefully refreshed while preserving the integrity, patina, and original character of the pieces.
Versatile in use, these cabinets work perfectly as bedsides, occasional cabinets, or flanking pieces in a living or bedroom setting.
