Mid-Century Italian Tubular Murano Glass Chandelier by Toni Zuccheri for Venini, c.1960s

A striking mid-century Italian chandelier designed by Toni Zuccheri for Venini, Murano, dating to the 1960s.
The chandelier is composed of numerous textured Murano glass tubular elements, each individually hand-formed and arranged in cascading tiers to create a sculptural, architectural silhouette. The distinctive cylindrical forms feature Venini’s characteristic organic relief texture, allowing the light to beautifully refract through the glass and produce a soft, atmospheric glow.
Suspended from a polished metal frame, the layered composition gives the piece a sense of movement and depth, reflecting the refined experimentation in glass and form that defined Venini’s modernist lighting during the post-war period.
When illuminated, the textured glass elements capture and disperse the light in a shimmering pattern, emphasising the craftsmanship and subtle variations inherent to Murano glassmaking.
A highly decorative example of Italian mid-century lighting design, combining sculptural presence with the exceptional artistry associated with Venini.
