Mid Century Italian Poliedri Wall Sconce by Carlo Scarpa for Venini c. 1960's
This exceptional Murano glass wall sconce features a series of hand-blown clear “Poliedri” glass elements suspended from a chrome metal frame, creating a sculptural interplay of light, transparency, and geometric form. Designed by Carlo Scarpa for Venini during the mid-century period, the Poliedri technique remains one of the most iconic and celebrated expressions of Venetian glassmaking.
When illuminated, the faceted glass prisms beautifully refract and diffuse light, producing a luminous crystalline effect characteristic of Italian modernist lighting of the 1960s and 1970s.
The piece has been rewired to Australian Standards and shows signs of wear consistent with age and use.
A timeless statement piece suited to both contemporary and classic interiors.
