Pair of Mid-Century Italian Poliedri Chandeliers in Cristallo, attributed to Carlo Scarpa

An exceptional pair of Mid-Century Italian chandeliers, featuring sculptural Poliedri glass elements in Cristallo.

Each chandelier is composed of individually moulded, heavily textured clear glass elements arranged in a dense, tiered formation around a metal frame. The distinctive geometric openings and irregular surfaces of the glass beautifully refract and diffuse the light, creating a striking interplay of brilliance, texture and shadow.

The elongated proportions give the chandeliers a particularly architectural presence, while the transparency of the Cristallo glass retains a sense of lightness despite their substantial scale.

Dating to approximately the 1960s, the Poliedri form is strongly associated with the celebrated Murano glass designs of Carlo Scarpa for Venini.

A rare and impressive pair, equally suited to a contemporary interior or a significant Mid-Century setting.

Italy, c. 1960s. Cristallo glass with chrome frames.

The chandeliers are wired to Australian Standards and the height can be adjusted to suit your requirements.
