Mid-Century Italian Millefiori Murano Glass Ceiling / Wall Lights, Attributed to Seguso

Beautiful mid-century Italian Millefiori ceiling or wall lights, attributed to Seguso and dating to circa 1960s–1970s.

Each light is composed of an extraordinary profusion of individually formed clear Murano glass flowers, layered closely together to create a richly textured, almost spherical floral composition. The glass petals feature varying impressed and reticulated textures, giving the surface remarkable depth and intricacy.

When illuminated, light filters through the overlapping transparent flowers, highlighting the individual textures of the glass and producing a warm, diffused glow across the surrounding wall or ceiling. When unlit, the pieces retain a highly sculptural quality, with the dense arrangement of glass resembling a bouquet of crystalline flowers.

Designed with great versatility, these fixtures can be installed as either wall sconces or ceiling lights, and are particularly striking when displayed as a group or installation in varying sizes.

An exceptional example of post-war Italian decorative lighting and the expressive possibilities of hand-worked Murano glass.
