Mid-Century Italian Chandelier by Venini
An exceptional and highly sculptural Mid-Century chandelier attributed to Venini, distinguished by its rare and playful composition of glass elements.
The piece is formed from a striking combination of elongated Murano glass cylinders in a soft fumé tone, interspersed with Venini’s signature tredri elements—each one hand-formed, creating a rhythmic contrast between solidity and lightness. The interplay between the smooth vertical tubes and the organic, almost floating tredri forms introduces a sense of movement, as though the structure is gently dispersing into space.
When illuminated, the chandelier emits a beautifully diffused glow, with light refracting through the varying glass thicknesses to create subtle tonal shifts and depth.
A highly unusual and collectible example of Italian glassmaking from the Mid-Century period.
