Mid-Century Italian Petal Chandelier by La Murrina, circa 1960s

A beautiful example of mid-century Italian lighting design, this sculptural Petal chandelier by La Murrina, dating to circa 1960s, showcases the artistry and craftsmanship of traditional Murano glassmaking.

The chandelier features an exquisite arrangement of individually formed glass petals, each with an elongated, gently curved silhouette that flares elegantly outwards. The petals are crafted in a combination of clear and white glass, with a richly textured, hammered surface that captures and refracts light beautifully.

Suspended from a brass frame, the glass elements are arranged in cascading layers, creating a striking floral composition with a wonderful sense of movement, depth and dimension.

When illuminated, the interplay between the transparent and opaque glass produces a soft, atmospheric glow, while the textured surfaces catch the light to create beautiful reflections and highlights.

The brass frame displays a beautiful natural patina, consistent with its age and the inherent characteristics of brass. This subtle ageing adds warmth and character to the piece, enhancing its authentic vintage appeal.

The chandelier embodies the organic forms and expressive glasswork characteristic of Italian lighting design during the mid-century period. Both decorative and functional, it makes a wonderful statement piece for an entrance, dining room or intimate living space.

A timeless example of vintage Italian craftsmanship, combining sculptural elegance with the enduring beauty of Murano glass.

The chandelier has been rewired to Australian electrical standards, ready for installation.
