Italian Mid-Century Low-Line Console, attributed to Paolo Buffa

Elegant Italian mid-century low-line console attributed to Paolo Buffa, exemplifying the refined proportions, material contrast, and understated sophistication synonymous with post-war Italian design. The console is beautifully crafted with a rich dark timber carcass and a striking book-matched veneer top, showcasing a deep, expressive grain that adds warmth and visual depth.
The façade features a series of shallow drawers with contrasting lighter timber fronts arranged in a subtle geometric pattern, framed in dark timber and finished with original turned handles. The low, elongated profile and gently curved ends give the piece a sculptural, architectural presence while remaining highly functional.
This console works effortlessly as a hallway piece, behind a sofa, or as a low storage element in a living or bedroom setting.
Professionally restored by our furniture polisher, with the timber surfaces carefully refreshed to enhance the natural grain while preserving the integrity and character of the original design.
Good vintage condition, with minor signs of age consistent with use, please note one of the handles is missing.
