Incredibly rare Mid-Century Italian ‘Eros’ dining table by Angelo Mangiarotti for Skipper, c.1970s.

A masterclass in structural purity and material intelligence, this iconic design is executed entirely in white Carrara marble. The sculptural top rests upon four monolithic cylindrical legs, each precisely carved to interlock with the underside of the slab—an engineering feat that eliminates the need for joints, fixings, or hardware. The table is held together purely by gravity, a signature of Mangiarotti’s architectural approach to design.

The softly contoured, almost biomorphic edge of the top introduces a subtle fluidity, contrasting with the solidity of the pillars below. Natural veining across the Carrara marble brings movement and individuality to the piece, ensuring no two examples are ever alike.

Designed to comfortably seat 6–8 people, this is a rare and highly collectible work that exemplifies Mangiarotti’s enduring legacy—where form, function, and material exist in perfect balance.

In very good condition, with light wear consistent with age and use.
