Dining Table Model 4997 by Ignazio Gardella & Anna Castelli Ferrieri for Kartell, Italy, c.1960s
An iconic Italian design dining table, model 4997, designed by Ignazio Gardella in collaboration with Anna Castelli Ferrieri for Kartell. This piece is a strong example of post-war Italian modernism, combining rationalist form with innovative material use. The table features a circular top finished in a vivid turquoise lacquer, supported by a sculptural central pedestal base with subtly flared feet. The design reflects Gardella’s architectural precision and Castelli Ferrieri’s pioneering approach to industrial design, particularly in the context of Kartell’s early production history. Both functional and visually striking, the table’s clean geometry and bold colour make it ideal as a dining table, meeting table, or statement piece within a contemporary or mid-century interior.
Condition : The table shows damage as the table has had a heavy amount of use. There are cracks to the base along with colour de-colouration on the top of the table top. There are signs of scratches consistent with the age of the piece.
