Contemporary Venetian ‘Selle Rigate’ Chandelier by eModerno – Fumé

A striking contemporary Venetian Selle Rigate chandelier by eModerno, handcrafted by master artisans in our furnace in Venice.

Inspired by the original Selle, or “Saddle”, chandeliers by Barovier & Toso, this contemporary interpretation is composed of individually hand-blown Venetian glass elements, each defined by its elongated profile and distinctive flared, sculptural form.

Shown here in Fumé, the smoked Venetian glass introduces a rich, sophisticated depth to the chandelier. The darker translucent tone changes beautifully according to its surroundings and illumination, ranging from soft smoky grey to warmer bronze-like tones as light passes through the glass.

Rigate, meaning “ribbed” in Italian, refers to the distinctive ribbed texture running throughout each individual piece of glass. The pronounced linear pattern follows the curves of the Selle form, accentuating each piece while catching and refracting the light across its surface.

Arranged across five cascading tiers, the chandelier is wider through the upper tiers before gradually narrowing towards a central point at the base. The repetition and overlapping of the hand-blown glass creates a dramatic architectural silhouette with exceptional texture and movement from every angle.

Manufactured entirely by eModerno in Venice, the Selle Rigate can be fully customised in size, overall drop, number of tiers, glass colour and frame finish to suit individual interiors and projects.

Fully wired to Australian standards.
