A striking contemporary Venetian Selle Rigate chandelier by eModerno, handcrafted by master artisans in our furnace in Venice.

Inspired by the iconic Selle, or “Saddle”, chandeliers of mid-century Italian design, this interpretation features individually hand-blown Murano glass elements with an elongated silhouette and distinctive sculptural, flared ends.

Rigate, meaning “ribbed” in Italian, refers to the pronounced ribbed texture running throughout each individual piece of glass. This traditional glass-working detail gives the chandelier its beautiful linear quality, enhancing the way light travels through and refracts across the surface of the glass.

Shown here in Champagne, the warm, softly tinted glass complements the rigate texture beautifully. When illuminated, the ribbing catches and diffuses the light, creating depth, movement and a subtle shimmering effect across the chandelier.

Arranged across five cascading tiers, the chandelier is wider at the top before gradually tapering towards a central point at the bottom. The overlapping Selle elements create a dramatic sculptural form with a strong architectural presence.

Handcrafted entirely in Venice, each chandelier can be fully customised to suit individual projects, with options for size, overall drop, number of tiers, glass colour and frame finish.
