Mid-Century Italian Chandelier by Venini, Murano, c.1960s
Exceptional mid-century Italian chandelier attributed to Venini, Murano, dating to the 1960s. The chandelier is composed of vertically ribbed clear Murano glass elements, each precision-cut and interspersed with distinctive four-pointed star motifs, creating a richly layered, sculptural form.
The glass prisms are arranged in graduated tiers, forming a softly faceted, inverted silhouette that diffuses light with remarkable depth and luminosity. When illuminated, the interplay between the ribbed glass and geometric inserts produces a refined, atmospheric glow, characteristic of Venini’s mastery of light and material.
The chandelier is suspended from a gold powdercoated frame which has been completely restored, with the warm tone of the structure subtly visible through the glass, enhancing the overall richness and elegance of the piece.
Please note: there are minor chips to some glass elements, consistent with the age and vintage nature of the chandelier. These do not detract from the overall presence or functionality of the piece and are visible upon close inspection.
Fully rewired to Australian standards and ready for installation.
A highly decorative and sculptural example of Murano glass lighting from one of Italy’s most important glassmakers, ideal for both mid-century and contemporary interiors.
